Girls Cricket

Girls cricket is the fastest growing aspect of the game.  An increasing number of clubs now provide opportunties for girls to participate in female only teams, which compete in District leagues. Girls are also receiving regular coaching from experienced coaches within schools through the Chance to Shine programme.

Girls's Skills Development Programme

The Hampshire Cricket Board are launching a brand new, exciting and non-selective skills development programme, aimed at providing an increased number of girls with additional coaching to support them in their development.

In 2022, the ECB launched a new policy to increase county squads at U11 & U13 to a minimum of 30. On the back of this, Hampshire Cricket Board reviewed their offer and, with so many girls of a similar ability, felt that it would be far more beneficial to support as many girls as possible, therefore helping to strengthen the overall club game.

With this in mind, the Hampshire Cricket Board will run open access development sessions at U11, U13 and U15 that will offer opportunities for up to 36 girls in each region, split into sessions of 18. These sessions will be used to support and provide additional coaching in specific areas of the game, complimenting and supporting the training girls recieve at clubs.
