Wicketz is a community cricket programme, funded by Lords Taverners, targeting areas of deprivation, high population and urban communities. The programme is aimed at boys and girls aged 8-19 and seeks to provide weekly cricket opportunities, alongside themed life-skill workshops designed to help young people gain understanding, qualifications and improve their lives.
Our Southampton Wicketz programme launched at the end of 2018 and we have established a number of Wicketz hub locations, which are very well attended by young people from urban communities. Prior to the March 2020 lockdown, we are proud to say that of the 150+ young people that have attended Wicketz, over 80 participants have attended 5 or more subsequent sessions.
