2019 Fixtures: Vitality Blast & Kia Super League

The 2019 Vitality Blast & Kia Super League fixtures have now been confirmed

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have today announced the full Vitality Blast and Kia Super League fixtures for the 2019 season.

2019 Fixtures

Hampshire’s quest to reach an eighth Vitality Blast Finals Day begins on Friday 19th July with fans treated to the always anticipated ‘el clasicoast’ clash against Sussex Sharks as the season-opening fixture.

The Sharks will also be Hampshire’s first away opponents in the competition on Wednesday 24th July, followed by a trip to Taunton to take on Somerset on Friday 26th July.

A total of 10 matches will be played in August, including home matches against Somerset (Friday 9th August), Surrey (Friday 16th August), Essex (Sunday 25th August) and Middlesex (Thursday 29th August), with Hampshire’s final fixture of the group-stages to be played against Glamorgan at Cardiff on Friday 30th August.

The competition’s quarter-finals will then be decided during the first week of September, before Finals Day, held at Edgbaston once again in 2019, on Saturday 21st September.

Next year’s Vitality Blast campaign is set to be another exciting one and having enjoyed success in the competition over the past eight or nine years, we’ll be working hard to hit the ground running and put in some strong performances in 2019.

The home fixture list looks a fantastic one for the fans and the guys relish playing in front of big crowds and the support we get at the The Ageas Bowl is fantastic - we’re looking forward to a positive campaign next year and hopefully we can reach that eighth Finals Day.

2019 Passports

After the success of last year’s expanded Kia Super League, all six teams, including the The Ageas Bowl-based Southern Vipers, will once again play each other home and away in 2019.

The Southern Vipers will get their 2019 campaign underway at Liverpool as they take on Lancashire Thunder on Sunday 22nd July before another away fixture against Loughborough Lightning on Thursday 8th August.

The opening home match of the competition will see Western Storm visit the The Ageas Bowl on Sunday 11th August followed by a trip to the Kia Oval to face reigning 2018 Champions Surrey Stars 24 hours later.

Hove and Arundel will then host two Vipers home matches against Lancashire Thunder (Thursday 15th August) and Surrey Stars (Sunday 18th August), before away matches against Western Storm at Bristol (Tuesday 20th August) and Yorkshire Diamonds (Sunday 25th August).

The final two home contests at the The Ageas Bowl will see Suzie Bates’ side welcome Yorkshire Diamonds (Wednesday 21st August) and Loughborough Lightning (Wednesday 28th August) to finish the group-stages. This year's KSL Finals Day will again be hosted by Sussex at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Sunday 1st September.

Next year’s fixtures mark another exciting summer for the women’s game with an Ashes series fol-lowed by the Kia Super League, and the competition will provide another great opportunity to inspire youngsters to play the game and attract new fans.

After a disappointing campaign last year, we’re looking forward to getting back to winning ways in 2019.

Charlotte Edwards, Director of Women's Cricket
