Liam Dawson scored a century off 69 balls to set up a remarkable 186-run win over Glamorgan, sealed by superb spells from Hampshire's seam attack at Swansea.
Dawson's ton helped Hants post 316-5, assisted by a terrific knock from the experienced Will Smith (84), before Ryan McLaren and Gareth Berg took four wickets each to end the contest with 18 overs remaining.
Any hopes Glamorgan had of progressing to the quarter finals of the competition were effectively ended in the first twelve overs of their innings at Swansea, when they collapsed to 29-6 against the swing and seam of Hampshire’s Ryan McLaren and Gareth Berg.
Hampshire scored freely after winning the toss, with Will Smith, Tom Alsop and McLaren sharing useful partnerships with Dawson, who accelerated towards the end of his innings to reach three figures from the last ball. His runs came from just 68 balls, with three fours and four sixes as forty runs were plundered in the final two overs.
Tom Alsop had earlier struck a hundred and three fifties in the competition this season, made a fluent 35, before chipping Craig Meschede to mid-on while Will Smith made the most of being dropped on 23 at mid- wicket off Andrew Salter to score 84, and share an important partnership of 86 with Dawson for the fourth wicket.
After Hampshire had scored a formidable 316 for 5, the home team were all out for 130 with 18 overs remaining.
Glamorgan made the worst possible start when David Lloyd was leg before to Ryan McLaren to the first ball of the innings and despite the slow pitch, the Hampshire seamers repeatedly beat the bat, as Jacques Rudolph and Will Bragg edged balls to the wicketkeeper.
Berg took the key wicket of Colin Ingram, who struck two hundreds in both one day competitions against Essex last week - the Glamorgan batsman top-edging a hook to fine leg.
When Graham Wagg was leg before to a perfect yorker from Berg, the home team had lost five wickets for nine runs, with Berg taking 4 for 2 from 16 balls.
Meschede top scored with 45 and his partnership of 30 with Tim Van Der Gugten enabled Glamorgan to pass three figures, but it was little consolation for Glamorgan, who were defeated by 186 runs.
