Hampshire - County Championship Division One Survival - Permutations

Here's all you need to know about Hampshire's chances of Specsavers County Championship Division One Survival

Going into the final week of Specsavers County Championship action, there are a number of ways in which Hampshire can remain in Division One.

If Warwickshire lose, a Hampshire win and one bonus point would ensure Division One survival.

If Lancashire lose, a Hampshire win and seven bonus points would be sufficient.

Please note, both scenarios account for the losing sides securing maximum bonus points, which is unlikely during a defeat.

If Warwickshire lose and Hampshire draw, Hants would need to achieve at least three more bonus points than Warwickshire.

If Warwickshire v Lancashire is drawn, Hampshire would need to win and achieve no fewer than three less bonus points than Warwickshire.

In the above scenarios, Hampshire – who would be level on points with Warwickshire - would survive based on the number of games won this season.

Finally, Hampshire could theoretically move above both sides if Warwickshire v Lancashire ends in a draw. In this case, Hampshire would need to win and achieve at least three more bonus points than Lancashire.

Fixtures, Tuesday 20th September:

Hampshire v Durham, The Ageas Bowl

Middlesex v Yorkshire, Lord's

Warwickshire v Lancashire, Edgbaston

Somerset v Nottinghamshire, The Cooper Associates County Ground
