Pre-Season Friendly With Gloucestershire Confirmed

Hampshire Cricket will host a two-day warmup match with Gloucestershire ahead of the 2022 season

Ahead of the LV= Insurance County Championship beginning on Thursday 7th April, Hampshire Cricket have announced that they will host a two-day pre-season friendly against Gloucestershire across Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd March.

The two teams met in the 2021 County Championship group stages in a match that Hampshire won by eight wickets, as Nick Gubbins grabbed his first century for the club. Gloucestershire’s group stage performance was only enough to qualify for Division Two, whilst Hampshire earned a Division One spot. A second-place finish, behind Essex, was enough to confirm a spot in Division One for the upcoming season as the County Championship returns to a two-division format.

Hampshire will take on Gloucestershire twice when the County Championship comes back around, at home in early May before an away contest in June.

A second red-ball warmup match will be played against Loughborough UCCE in the traditional university friendly matches at the start of the season. This three-day game will also be played at The Ageas Bowl and will start at 11am on Monday 28th March until Wednesday 30th March.
