Hampshire Duo Named In England IT20 Squad

Hampshire skipper James Vince and all-rounder Liam Dawson selected in 16-man squad for upcoming West Indies IT20s

Eoin Morgan will be leading a squad of 16 players for England's men's international Twenty20 matches against West Indies next month.

Hampshire's captain James Vince and all-rounder Liam Dawson have both been named in Morgan's IT20 squad for the five-match series taking place at the end of January.

Vince will take some fresh T20 match experience into England's tour to Barbados after competing in the Big Bash League in Australia with Sydney Sixers throughout December and early January.

Former England IT20 captain, Paul Collingwood, stands in as head coach with Marcus Trescothick joining as assistant coach.

The selected squad contains 11 players who were part of England's T20 World Cup campaign in the United Arab Emirates last November, as well as two uncapped players, Sussex's left-arm fast bowler George Garton, and Gloucestershire's left-arm seamer David Payne.

We have selected a strong squad with some serious batting power and a balanced attack as we begin preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

The World Cup is less than a year away and there will be increased opportunities for the squad in the absence of those players who are with the Ashes squad.

I have good memories winning a World Cup in Barbados and I’m really looking forward to going back there with this squad to face a very good West Indies who will test all aspects of our skills.
