Hampshire Cricket are delighted to announce the signing of George Munsey for this summer’s Vitality Blast competition.
The Scotland international will join the squad later this week and will be available for the duration of the tournament, which includes an initial 10 group games.
Munsey, a hard-hitting top-order batsman, has been a prominent feature of Scotland’s white-ball set-up since making his international debut against Ireland in an IT20 in 2015.
The 27-year-old boasts an excellent record, particularly in the shortest form of the game, with 1,176 runs to his name at an average of 30.15 and a strike-rate of 159.78 in 45 IT20 appearances. The left-hander has also featured in 25 ODIs for his national side, the most recent coming in December 2019.
We’re pleased to have George with us for this summer’s Vitality Blast and he’ll add further depth and fire-power to our top-order for that competition.
Giles White, Director Of Cricket
He’s had good success with Scotland at international level and has been an important part of their white-ball sides – he’s a good fit for us.

Hampshire are also joined by local-rivals Sussex Sharks, Essex Eagles, Surrey, Middlesex alongside Kent Spitfires in the South Group and play each side twice, once home and once away.
This year’s competition runs until Sunday 20th September, with quarter-finals set for Thursday 1st October ahead of Finals Day at Edgbaston on Sunday 3rd October.
All of Hampshire’s Vitality Blast matches at the The Ageas Bowl will be played behind-closed-doors due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
