It was a tale of two batsmen in the county under 17 club final as Hook and Newnham Basics edged out Compton and Chandlers Ford on a superb May's Bounty track.
Alex Brown belted an unbeaten 95 in just 63 balls including two sixes and 13 fours as the north Hampshire side totalled 181 for 4 after choosing to bat.
Greg Littlehales (2 for 27) was the pick of the bowlers as the ball regularly disappeared over a lightning outfield or into the car park.
In reply Luke Deacon (98 not out in 73 balls) went five better but Compton and Chandlers Ford closed 16 runs adrift as Hook conceded fewer boundaries.
Rupert Armstrong (2 for 21) starred as they added the Kerry Cup to their under 15 Justice Cup win earlier this year.
The Kerry Cup was first played for in 2010 and was the idea of the Kerry family who had been helping to develop youth cricket in the North of Hampshire in conjunction with their Club Aldershot CC since 1950. Although they have worked with all age groups and levels they have been particularly involved with under 17s, who they regard as the most important age group in any youth section.
