International Look Back: Jamieson Takes Five Wickets In World Test Championship Final

Kyle Jamieson took five wickets to put New Zealand on top against India in the inaugural World Test Championship Final in 2021

England visit The Ageas Bowl twice in 2023 - with England Women facing Australia in an Ashes ODI in July and England Men facing New Zealand in an ODI of their own in September - and tickets for both fixtures went on sale recently.

To mark the on-sale, we're looking back at impressive individual performances in international fixtures at The Ageas Bowl.

In 2021, The Ageas Bowl was chosen to host the first-ever World Test Championship Final.

New Zealand ace Kyle Jamieson made his international debut in February 2020 in an ODI against India. In his ODI career, the tall fast bowler has taken 11 wickets at 27.

It is with the red ball where Jamieson has impacted the international stage the most, taking 72 wickets at less than 20.

The 28-year-old was the main destroyer of the Indian line-up in the first innings, taking five wickets for 31 runs from 22 overs.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill began well, recording an opening partnership of 62 before Jamieson struck, having Sharma caught by Southee in the slips.

Jamieson's next wicket was a massive moment in the match, getting Virat Kohli lbw for 44.

Rishabh Pant was the next Indian batter to fall to Jamieson, slashing hard and edging to second slip to leave India 156/5.

The New Zealand ace then collected his five-wicket haul by having Sharma caught by Ross Taylor before pinning Jasprit Bumrah first ball.
