The 23-year-old bowler has signed a new one year contract at The Ageas Bowl until the end of 2023
Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce that left-arm bowler Jack Campbell has signed a one-year contract with the Club until the end of 2023.
Campbell, who will wear number 11, was born in Portsmouth and played for Hampshire’s age group and Academy sides.
I’m absolutely thrilled to have signed a new contract at Hampshire.
It’s been great to return to the Club; I had so many fond memories of playing age group and Academy cricket here and I can’t wait for the start of the 2023 season.
Jack Campbell
He left The Ageas Bowl for Durham, while also studying at Durham University, where he earned an England Under 19 call-up and made first team appearances in all formats.
Last season saw Campbell make a return to Hampshire and made his debut for the Club in a First-Class match against a Sri Lanka Development XI side.
The 23-year-old then played a vital part in Hampshire’s 2022 Royal London Cup campaign as the young side progressed all the way to the semi-final stage. He took 17 wickets at an average of 21.76 – with a career best of 4-44 against Kent Spitfires.
Jack has impressed us all since joining last summer.
He possesses all the attributes that you look for in a young quick.
He’s a very exciting prospect and we look forward to seeing him continue his development over the coming months.
