James Vince Named 2018 Players' Player Of The Year

James Vince, Kyle Abbott, Brad Taylor, Amelia Kerr and Fi Morris all took home awards at the 2018 End of Season Awards Dinner

Hampshire's James Vince, Kyle Abbott, Brad Taylor, Fi Morris and the Southern Vipers' Amelia Kerr, were the big winners at this year's End of Season Awards Dinner.

The annual event, which celebrated the achievements of both Hampshire Men's and Women's sides and the Southern Vipers from the 2018 season took place in the Ageas Ballroom on Friday 28th September.

Vince, who finished with 1,764 runs across all formats this season, took home the Hilton Players' Player of the Year award, voted for by his Hampshire teammates. 

The skipper also claimed the Greene King IPA Batsman of the Year award for his contribution throughout the summer, whilst seamer Kyle Abbott picked up the gong for BEEFY'S Bowler of the Year for his 51 County Championship wickets in 2018.

Abbott also claimed the Utilita Fans’ Player of the Year Award - an award voted for by Hampshire Members and supporters - for his outstanding contributions with the ball this season.

The Dartagnan Menswear Clubman of the Year Award, which aims to reward on and off-field commitment to the club, was won by Brad Taylor with votes cast by The Ageas Bowl staff who selected a player who had contributed to off-field events or match days, or generally being supportive throughout the year.

For the first time, the double-winning Hampshire Women's side were also present for the evening, with Charlotte Edwards' side invited to the stage to celebrate their successes and to receive both the Royal London County Championship and T20 trophies. All-rounder Fi Morris received the Simple Recruitment Services Women's Player of the Year for her excellent contributions with bat and ball this season.

The Ageas Bowl based Southern Vipers were also recognised during the evening, as Amelia Kerr took home the eforea spa Southern Vipers Player of the Year trophy followinga stellar first year with the squad which saw her pick up 10 wickets at an average of 23.10.
