Match Preview: Glamorgan v Hampshire - Vitality Blast

James Vince's side will look to make it four T20 wins from five visits to Cardiff when Hampshire face Glamorgan on Friday

Hampshire will be looking to make it four T20 victories in five visits to Cardiff as James Vince’s side take on Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens this Friday.

Hampshire Squad:

Liam Dawson picked up his 100th T20 wicket during Wednesday’s six-wicket defeat against Somerset, and despite another difficult result, the all-rounder impressed with excellent figures of 1-14 from his four overs. Dawson has contributed well with both bat and ball so far this campaign and he’ll be hoping to continue that good form on Friday.

South Africa speedster Dale Steyn made his Hampshire T20 debut on Wednesday and is set to feature once again at Sophia Gardens.

The Opposition:

Glamorgan have enjoyed success in the Blast in recent years, qualifying for the knockout stages in three of the previous four campaigns, and Colin Ingram’s side have had performed well again so far this summer, currently sitting third in the South Group.

After consecutive impressive campaigns, the destructive Ingram has again proved to be the thorn in many teams’ side this year and it’s no surprise to see the skipper top the list of run-getters for the home-side with 316 runs at an average of 63.20.

Seamer Timm van der Gugten has also enjoyed an excellent tournament having claimed 16 wickets at an average of less than 20 with the ball in his nine matches played so far. Both Ingram and van der Gugten will be key players Hampshire will need to combat on Friday evening.
