Match Preview: Middlesex v Hampshire - Vitality Blast

A 16-man squad has been announced for Thursday's Vitality Blast match against Middlesex

Hampshire will be looking to add another win to their Vitality Blast tally and secure the T20 double against Middlesex when they face Eoin Morgan’s side at a sold-out Lord’s on Thursday.

Hampshire Squad:

A 16-man squad has been named for Thursday’s match-up, with 25-year-old left-arm spinner Jake Lintott, who featured for Hampshire in a T20 fixture in 2016, joining the squad on Thursday.

Sam Northeast and Colin Munro will be looking to continue their good form this week with Munro striking a half-century against Middlesex in the reverse fixture earlier this month, whilst Northeast struck his first T20 fifty for James Vince’s side against Essex Eagles last Saturday.

The Opposition:

Middlesex have had a difficult start to this year’s Vitality Blast campaign, suffering defeat in four of their five matches contested so far.

England limited-overs captain Morgan will lead the hosts, with overseas duo Dwayne Bravo and Ashton Agar also set to feature. England’s Dawid Malan and Ireland’s Paul Stirling also lead the line at the top of the order, with promising 20-year-old Max Holden also making good contributions opening up so far this year.

Steven Finn and Tom Helm lead the seam attack, with James Fuller who claimed 6-28 against Hampshire last week, also providing a strong bowling option alongside the reliable Bravo and left-arm spin from Agar.
