Southern Vipers return to The Ageas Bowl to take on Thunder in another double-header with Hampshire Hawks after the highly successful Champions Day which saw both sides convincingly beat their respective opponents.
However, on Bank Holiday Monday, the Vipers succumbed to a five-wicket defeat to The Blaze with just two balls to spare.
Georgia Adams top scored with 31 as the Vipers were bowled out for an under-par 118, before Linsey Smith took 2-19 – and a maiden – off her four overs, but it wasn’t quite enough to stop the table-toppers from getting over the line.
Thunder make the trip to The Ageas Bowl for the first time since their four-wicket defeat to the Vipers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy last year where Emily Windsor struck 59 and Chloe Hill ended on 43*.
The north-western side are currently level on points with the Vipers, with two wins from their four games having beaten Sunrisers and Central Sparks, although the Vipers do have a game in hand.
Southern Vipers Squad
Southern Vipers have named a 15-player squad for tomorrow's match against Thunder.
Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt have joined up with an England red ball training camp alongside Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean.
Wicket-keeper Chloe Hill and Finty Trussler have been added to the squad.
