Southern Vipers’ domestic regional fixtures for the 2023 season have been confirmed.
The Vipers – the reigning Charlotte Edwards Cup champions - will look to retain their crown in 2023 as their T20 title defence begins at home to the 2021 champions, South East Stars, before two mouth-watering, back-to-back double headers at The Ageas Bowl against Western Storm and the rebranded Blaze, with the Vipers playing on the same day as Hampshire Hawks.
We can’t wait to get 2023 underway as we look to add to the silverware we’ve won across both formats in recent years. We’re particularly looking forward to defending our Charlotte Edwards Cup title, and the fact we’ll be playing in five T20 double headers this year, two of which are in front of a home crowd at The Ageas Bowl, playing on the same day as Hampshire Hawks, is even more exciting.
The two-time Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy winners – the Vipers lifted the trophy in 2020 and 2021 – kick off their 50-over campaign on Saturday 22nd April against Sunrisers at The Ageas Bowl, before back-to-back away matches against South East Stars and Central Sparks.
This year, women’s regional teams will play each side home and away, as opposed to playing each side once in previous years.
In total, Southern Vipers will play a minimum of 21 matches in 2023, eight more than in 2022, with five double-headers alongside Vitality Blast matches, and will play each team once in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, as opposed to playing three teams twice in a group stage.
Tickets for next summer’s Vipers action go on sale in February next year, while a Hampshire Cricket Membership entitles free admission to all Southern Vipers matches hosted at The Ageas Bowl
Memberships for 2023 are now on sale, from £180 for a standard membership, whilst junior and young adult memberships start at £25.
