Southern Vipers Off To Strong Start In The World Cup

Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean, and Danni Wyatt have all played key roles as England go into their third World Cup match unbeaten

Southern Vipers stars Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean, and Danni Wyatt have all started well for England in their campaign to win their second T20 World Cup.

Bell and Dean both picked up their first ever T20 World Cup wickets as England defeated Ireland by four wickets on Monday 13th February.

Off spinner Dean took 2-26 off three overs, whilst Bell picked up 1-17 off three overs.

Opening batter Danni Wyatt has scored 27 runs with three fours and a six, and is striking at over 120 runs per 100 balls.

Fellow Viper Maia Bouchier is also included in England’s squad but is yet to feature in the tournament.

England’s next match is against India on Saturday 18th February, with play starting at 1pm GMT.

The last time the two sides met, Southern Vipers’ Charlie Dean was nursing England to victory in the final ODI at Lord’s before she was run out three runs shy of a maiden ODI fifty, and just 16 runs away from seeing England home.
