Vote for Your Player of the Month for June!

As part of Hampshire Cricket’s relaunch of the Club’s Player of the Month awards for 2015, fans can again vote for their Player of the Month, this time for the month of June.

Fans can vote for their Player of the Month through our official Twitter account by retweeting the relevant tweet when prompted.

Once the Player of the Month has been announced, one lucky fan who voted for that player will win two tickets to Hampshire’s NatWest T20 Blast match against Somerset at the The Ageas Bowl on Thursday 23rd July.

Before the match, the fan will get the opportunity to meet the Player of the Month to congratulate him of his award.

June Player of the Month Nominees:

Gareth Berg

The all-rounder has been a prominent part of the Hampshire side in all formats this season with excellent performances with both bat and ball in June.

The 34-year-old has averaged an impressive 19.33 with the ball, whilst also averaging more than 51 with the bat, including a top score of 99 in the side’s first LV= County Championship victory of 2015 against local rivals Sussex.

Berg also took three important catches during the month.

Owais Shah

The hard-hitting top-order batsman has been a stand-out performer for Hampshire’s NatWest T20 Blast side throughout June.

The right-hander averaged an exceptional 52 with the bat in his four innings, including a composed half-century to seal Hampshire’s vital victory over Middlesex at Lords, whilst also pouching two catches.

Sean Ervine

Hampshire’s reliable all-rounder has again been a consistent performer during the month of June.

After claiming the player of the month award for April, Ervine has again pressed his claim for the award with a batting average of more than 42, whilst also grabbing five catches in his role as a valuable fielder in the slip cordon.

The 32-year-old is also a steady contributer with the ball and averaged just over 30 runs per wicket with his efficient seam bowling.
