Winter Watch: The Ageas Bowl Contingent In Action Overseas

George Bailey, Brad Taylor, Mason Crane and Suzie Bates were all in action overseas last week

Hampshire's Brad Taylor, George Bailey and Mason Crane were all in action overseas last week, with all three players contributing during fixtures for their respective Australian sides.

Taylor, who has been featuring at club level for Woodville Cricket Club, took 2-18 from just three overs during his side's 92-run victory over Southern District on Saturday.

Hampshire batsman, Bailey, who recently returned to the club on a two-year overseas deal was also in action down-under, this time for Australian BBL franchise, Hobart Hurricanes.

The right-hander was in fine form with the bat during his team's two warm-up fixtures before this year's competition gets underway, notching totals of 65* from 32 balls and 57 from 30 balls in consecutive contests.

The first round of matches in this year's sixth annual BBL begins this week, with Bailey's Hurricanes' opening match set for Monday 26th December against Melbourne Stars.

Crane (2-48) also claimed another two-wicket haul over the weekend, his fourth in as many contests, as Gordon Cricket Club picked up a valuable three-wicket win over Sutherland in their latest domestic round.

The Hampshire leg-spinner was rewarded for his consistent performances over the past weeks too as he was awarded the club's Player of the Month trophy for November.

Southern Vipers opener, Bates, also took to the field last week, skippering Perth Scorchers in their two matches against Brisbane Heat.

Bates impressed with the ball in the opening game, claiming two scalps whilst opening the bowling to help steer her side to a dominatnt victory.

The right-hander then totalled 15 off 17 balls with the bat in the second contest.
