Winter Watch: T10 Takes Over As Hampshire Duo Star In UAE

James Vince, Liam Dawson, Rilee Rossouw and Brad Taylor were all in action overseas last week

Four Hampshire players featured overseas last week, with James Vince, Rilee Rossouw, Liam Dawson and Brad Taylor all in action.

James Vince featured once again for England as they contested the third Ashes Test down under, with Joe Root's side facing Australia at the WACA.

England elected to bat first having won the toss for a third consecutive time, and after making his way to the crease following the early loss of Alastair Cook, Vince battled valiantly to reach 25.

The Hampshire skipper then impressed in the second-innings, notching a beautiful half-century before falling to an unplayable delivery from Mitchell Starc.

Both Rilee Rossouw and Liam Dawson were in action in the inaugural T10 League hosted in the UAE last week, and the duo performed excellently throughout the week-long competition.

The former, who lined up for Maratha Arabians, topped the tournament's sixes tally with 12 in his four innings whilst finishing fifth in runs scored with 126 runs at an average of 42. As part of that tally, the left-hander struck two match-winnings innings' with knocks of 49* from 18 balls and 67 from just 27 balls to help steer his side to the comeptition's semi-finals, before being eliminated.

Dawson also featured prominently for his side, Pakhtoons, as he finished with the best bowling average of the competition, having claimed three wickets at an average of just four runs per scalp.

The all-rounder also offered valuable contributions with the bat as he recorded crucial knocks of 44 and 19* - the latter scored from just five deliveries to see Pakhtoon secure victory from the game's final ball - before they too were eliminted in the semi-finals.

Brad Taylor was once again in action for Wellington-based side, Petone Cricket Club, this weekend as part of his overseas placement directed by England's International Pathway Programme.

The all-rounder claimed figures of 1-45 in Saturday's fixture against Hutt District Cricket Club, before going on to strike a determined 41 from 65 balls with the bat, as Petone were edged out by just four runs.
