Toby Albert is an imposing top-order batsman who played a major role in the U17’s and Academy team in 2019 and has earned his first season on the Hampshire Academy in 2020. Toby, who is based in Berkshire, finished the season by gaining 2nd XI recognition and we are looking forward to seeing more of the exciting young batter in 2021.
Harry Broderick gains a second year Academy spot for 2021 after a successful 2019 & 2020 season across all formats and age groups. The exciting top order batter/seam bowling all-rounder had some Academy exposure in 2019 and has joined the Hampshire College to complete his final year of education alongside his cricket on the Hampshire Academy.
Left-arm pace-bowler Josh Croom is the new addition to the Hampshire Academy squad for 2021. Croom, who spent last year with the U18s side, has been working on his game at Darren Lehmann’s Cricket Academy in Australia this winter, whilst seamer has also held his own in South Australia’s grade cricket competitions.
Dom Kelly is young local seam bowling all-rounder who played in the U16 Hampshire Development team in 2019 as an U13 and more than held his own. Dom, who attends Millfield School, will be playing in his second year with the Hampshire Academy after his involvement last summer.
Kamran Khanna has announced himself as an integral part of the Hampshire Cricket Pathway over the last two seasons. He featured heavily for the U17’s Academy in 2019 and even finished the season playing for the 2nd XI taking five wickets against Middlesex in a four-day game. He also featured for Hampshire 2nd XI in the Championship final triumph.
Charlie Mumford is a Hertfordshire-based wicket-keeper batsman who attends Bedford School. Charlie has played with Hampshire Cricket for a couple of years and has earned his second year on the Hampshire Academy as he enters the U17 age group. Charlie enjoyed the opportunity to feature in the Bunbury Festival in 2019.
A tall exciting seam bowler who had a superb second half of the 2019 season, Harry Petrie played a leading role within the U17 competitions and gained selection to the Super 4’s competition a year young. Based up at Wellington school and entering his second year on the Academy, we are looking forward to seeing further development from Harry in 2021.
Tom Prest is a top order batter and off spin bowler who has featured heavily for Hampshire over a number of seasons in CAG, Academy and 2nd XI cricket. Based in Dorset, Tom enjoyed a highly successful 2019 with bat and ball. Tom also gained selection for the National Super 4’s competition in 2019 a year young and played a major role in all the teams he represented.
After suffering long-term injuries over the last few seasons, James Trodd played the entire 2019 season and gained plenty of success. The Romsey-based left-arm quick earned selection to the Super 4’s tournament and enjoyed a highly successful U17 competition. We welcome James to his second and final year with us on the Hampshire Academy.
Another Hampshire based young player who has impressed through his U15 season, Huw Wheeler is a top order batter/seam bowler who enjoyed some exposure to Academy cricket last year. The Ropley-based youngster has progressed through the age groups to earn his second season on the Hampshire Academy.
