Toby Albert is an imposing top-order batsman who played a major role in the U17’s and Academy team in 2019 and has earned his first season on the Hampshire Academy for 2020. Toby, who is based in Berkshire, finished the season by gaining 2nd XI recognition and we are looking forward to seeing more of the exciting young batter in 2020.

Harry Broderick gains a first year Academy spot for 2019/20 after a successful 2019 season across all formats and age groups. The exciting top order batter/seam bowling all-rounder had some Academy exposure last season and has joined the Hampshire College to complete his final two years of education alongside his cricket on the Hampshire Academy.

Dom Kelly is young local seam bowling all-rounder who played in the U16 Hampshire Development team last season as an U13 and more than held his own. Dom, who attends Millfield School, will be playing in his first year with the Hampshire Academy.

Kamran Khanna announced himself as an integral part of the Hampshire Cricket Pathway last season. He featured heavily for the U17’s Academy and even finished the season playing for the 2nd XI taking five wickets against Middlesex in a four-day game. He also featured for Hampshire 2nd XI in the Championship final triumph last September.

Josh Lawrenson enters his second season on the Academy as an U17 in 2020. Josh is based in Jersey and has featured in the full Jersey U19’s team whilst also training with the full international team. We are very much looking forward to seeing more of Josh in 2020. He is a dynamic top order batter/off spinner who is highly enthusiastic about the game.
George Metzger

George Metzger enters his third and final season on the Academ after playing a regular role in the Academy and U17 teams for some time. George enjoyed 2nd XI exposure and selection for Super 4’s last season but last year's highlight was undoubtedly his selection to England's Young Lions ODI side. The Basingstoke-based wicket-keeper batsman will be looking to push for higher honours in 2020.

Entering his final season with the Academy, Fletcha Middleton enjoyed a great 2019 with a highlight being a score of 130+ to help Hampshire 2nd XI win the Championship title in the competition final against Leicestershire. A top order batter, Fletcha captained the U17’s to a final and semi-final in 2019 and also gained selection for the Super 4’s last season.

Charlie Mumford is a Hertfordshire-based wicket-keeper batsman who attends Bedford School. Charlie has played with Hampshire Cricket for a couple of years and has earned his first year on the Hampshire Academy as he enters the U16 age group. Charlie enjoyed the opportunity to feature in the Bunbury Festival in 2019.

A tall exciting seam bowler who had a superb second half of the 2019 season, Harry Petrie played a leading role within the U17 competitions and gained selection to the Super 4’s competition a year young. Based up at Wellington school and entering his second year on the Academy, we are looking forward to seeing further development from Harry in 2020.

Tom Prest is a top order batter and off spin bowler who has featured heavily for Hampshire over a number of seasons in CAG, Academy and 2nd XI cricket. Based in Dorset, Tom enjoyed a highly successful 2019 with bat and ball. Tom also gained selection for the National Super 4’s competition in 2019 a year young and played a major role in all the teams he represented.

After a great 2018 and a really positive start to the 2019 season, Sonny Reynolds was unfortunate to get an injury which was serious enough to rule him out of the large majority of 2019. The tall seam bowler, who is based in Waterlooville, will be looking to return in 2020 fit and firing.

A clean hitting left handed top-order batter and seam bowler, Tom South enjoyed a successful 2019 and goes into his third and final season on the Hampshire Academy. Tom, like others in the U17s, played in the Super 4’s last season and made his 2nd XI debut. After a superb white-ball run in the U17 Trophy competition. Tom will be looking to push for a regular 2nd XI spot in 2020.
James Trodd

After suffering long-term injuries over the last few seasons, James Trodd played the entire 2019 season and gained plenty of success. The Romsey-based left-arm quick earned selection to the Super 4’s tournament and enjoyed a highly successful U17 competition. We welcome James to his second and final year with us on the Hampshire Academy.

Another Hampshire based young player who has impressed through his U15 season, Huw Wheeler is a top order batter/seam bowler who enjoyed some exposure to Academy cricket last year. The Ropley-based youngster has progressed through the age groups to earn his first season on the Hampshire Academy.
