Hashim Amla

Batsman

Born in South Africa's coastal city, Durban, Hashim Amla has represented the Proteas in more than 320 International fixtures in all three formats since making his International debut in 2004.

The right-handed batsman's wealth of batting experience is reflected through his repeated ability to score large sums of runs consistently.

Having scored more than 16,000 runs at an average of 49.61 across both Test and ODI formats, the top-order batsman has proven that his ability puts him amongst the South African batting greats.

The 34-year old also has a proven track-record in England with an average of 63.70 in 50 First-Class innings' including nine centuries and sixteen fifties, as well as a Test average of 68.16 at County Championship Division One grounds.

Amla also holds the record for being the first, and only South African International to score a triple century, which was made gracefully at the Oval in 2012 against England which led his country to the Test Series win.

The top-order batsman proves himself at the top of the game in all International formats as he also holds an impressive ODI record in England with an average of 56.73 from 17 ODI innings', including his top-score in England being a massive 150 made at the Utilita Bowl in 2012.

Hashim has featured as a key batting role for Surrey in the past with two seasons playing County Championship for them in 2013-2014 including 14 innings' averaging 47.35 with a high score of 151. He also went on to join them for a portion of their T20 campaign in his final year with Surrey.

The world-class batsman joins Hampshire for the first 3-months of Hampshire's 2018 season which will see him take part in eight Specsavers County Championship fixtures as well as Hampshire's full Royal London One-Day Cup campaign.
