Tom Prest

All-Rounder

Tom Prest is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler.

He was born in Dorset and represented Hampshire’s age-group sides and was part of the academy before eventually making his 2nd XI debut in 2019.

In 2021 he scored a magical triple century against Sussex at The Ageas Bowl in a 2nd XI fixture which pushed him into the spotlight amongst people following the club.

The 18 year-old made his first team debut in June at The Ageas Bowl against Surrey in the T20 blast.

Prest was then a regular in the T20 side and played a crucial role in helping Hampshire to their first Finals Day since 2017, including scoring what turned out to be a crucial 44 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Also featuring in two first class matches for Hampshire during 2021, Prest was a replacement for James Vince as the captain was called up to England duties. While also making his full debut against Gloucestershire in the impressive win at Cheltenham.

Prest was a key component in Hampshire's RLC campaign, opening the batting and contributing some tidy overs with his off-spin.

During September Prest was included in the England Under 19's squad for the 50 over series against West Indies, a series which England won.

The Hampshire man was rewarded with a contract in the winter, while also touring Sri Lanka with the young Lions.
