Georgia Amanda Elwiss was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands on 31st May 1991 and is a right handed batter and right arm medium pace bowler.
She has represented England in four Test matches, 36 ODIs and 14 T20Is, and joined the Southern Vipers in 2021 after a four-year stint at Lightning from 2016-2019.
Elwiss initially played for Staffordshire from 2004-2010 before moving to Sussex where she has played ever since, although she was picked up by her hometown team of Birmingham Phoenix in the inaugural Hundred competition, before being re-signed for the 2022 season.
She made her England debut in 2011 against South Africa, and was part of the squad that won the 2017 Women's World Cup.
Since joining the Vipers, Elwiss has scored two centuries, both in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, with 112* against Sunrisers in 2021 before backing it up with 115 against South East Stars in 2022.
At the top end of the batting charts for both competitions in 2021, with a combined 374 runs, plus 10 wickets in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, and five in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, Elwiss showed that she was capable of further honours in the international stage, and she was selected to play against India in a Test match at Bristol.
Invaluable in 2022, Elwiss took 12 wickets to go alongside 289 runs across both the Charlotte Edwards Cup and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, all whilst becoming a mainstay on BBC Test Match Special, where she commentated on England Women's games with teammate Emily Windsor.
