Maia Emily Bouchier was born in Kensington, London on 5th December 1998 and is a right-handed batter who bowls right arm medium.
She played for Middlesex from 2014 before switching allegiances to Hampshire in 2019, although she joined the Vipers a year before in 2018. She also represents Southern Brave in The Hundred.
Bouchier registered her maiden half-century for the Vipers against Western Storm in 2020, and has gone from strength to strength.
A strong 2021 season with the bat, where she scored one shy of 300 runs at an average of 37, earned her a maiden international call-up, and she made her England debut in an IT20 against New Zealand, and was added to England’s ODI squad against the same opposition.
She then flew over to Australia where she featured for Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League, an received an Ashes call soon after.
Bouchier stayed on in Oz where she made a career-best score of 79 whilst playing for Western Australia against Queensland in the Women's National Cricket League.
A stellar 2022 Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign, where Bouchier scored 176 runs at an average of 29, saw her called up to England's IT20 squad for matches against South Africa, and for the Commonwealth Games.
She played in all five of England's matches in the Games, where she scored 30 runs with a best of 21*, and she hit the winnings runs as England kicked off their tournament with a win against Sri Lanka.
An ODI call up against India followed, but she was released to play in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, where she scored 51 in the eliminator against South East Stars, and 48 in the final against Northern Diamonds.
As of the end of 2022, Bouchier has appeared 14 times for England in IT20s with a high score of 34 against India in Derby, and has scored just shy of 1000 runs for the Vipers.
