Hampshire Cricket Board has the pleasure of inviting you to several, short sessions to support clubs with various aspects of cricket pitch maintenance over the course of the season. These sessions will be hosted by Phil Jeggo, our regional representative of the Grounds Management Association and formerly Head Groundsperson at Essex County Cricket Club.
We have three courses on offer with each one lasting two hours. Details of the course are below along with registration links. All courses are free of charge to attend.

Wetting the pitch, Drying a pitch
Brushing, raking, mowing

Location: Sparsholt CC - 11th May - 2pm to 4pm
Theme: Match Pitch repairs including foot hole repair
Areas of focus:
Cleaning the pitch up
Materials/equipment required
Preparing a seedbed for the pitch
Applying Loam, seed, Fertiliser, levelling
Post repair care
Repairing a foot hole to re-use a pitch and during longer games
Location: Hartley Wintney CC - 5th July - 2pm to 4pm
Theme: Post season renovation. Winter maintenance
Areas of focus:
Preparing Square for renovation, Materials/machinery required
Thatch removal, Scarification
Preparing a seed bed
Applying Loam, seed, Fertiliser
Winter Maintenance
Mowing (topping)
Drag Brushing
Surveillance for Weeds, Pests, Diseases
