Hampshire Cricket Programme at Barton Peveril College

The Hampshire Cricket Programme is an exciting two year programme that gives promising young cricketers the opportunity to develop their skills whist continuing in full-time education.

As well as joining a college with an outstanding reputation for excellent standards, teaching and learning, the Hampshire Cricket Programme provides training sessions at the international-standard cricket facilities at The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket.

How does the programme work?

The Hampshire Cricket programme provides male and female students with the opportunity to train and play cricket alongside their full-time study. Students will receive specialist coaching from Hampshire Cricket coaches, and have the opportunity to take part in fixtures during the summer. Alongside the cricket students can study any range of qualifications at College, including A Levels and Vocational qualifications.

There are two tiers to the programme:

Tier 1 - Elite Cricket Programme

This is aimed at competitive club, district and county level cricketers.

Students will train up to six hours per week throughout the winter in the Indoor School and in the gym at The Ageas Bowl, developing physically and technically in preparation for a competitive summer schedule of fixtures.

Tier 2 - Development Cricket Programme

This is aimed at students who want to develop their basic skills and enjoy cricket in a recreational environment.

Students will enjoy one three hour session per week. This is suitable for club players.

Who can join?

Any student can apply for a place on the Hampshire Cricket Programme at Barton Peveril. The two tiers to the programme ensure that there is a suitable programme for male and female students of all abilities and experience. Students must have a suitable level of fitness to take this course. The Hampshire Cricket Programme is not a standalone course and must be taken alongside a full-time programme of courses at Barton Peveril.

What will it cost?

The Programme is free to join and take part in. Students will have the opportunity to purchase an official Hampshire Cricket training bundle from The Ageas Bowl Store.
