Girls cricket is the fastest growing aspect of the game. An increasing number of clubs now provide opportunties for girls to participate in female only teams, which compete in District leagues. Girls are also receiving regular coaching from experienced coaches within schools through the Chance to Shine programme.
Clubs provide a range of opportunties for girls at under 11 (softball), under 13 and under 16 to participate in female only teams. Click on a marker for the club contact details.
The W10 initiative provides women and girls (over 13 years of age) the opportunity to play softball cricket in a fun and sociable environment, Find a W10 club.
The Girls' RPC programme aims to provide further opportunities for talented club players to develop their skills and enjoy the game. In July, clubs from the four junior districts (North, Winchester, South East & New Forest) nominate girls to attend trials in October and November. Selected players are invited to attend the Regional Performance Centres at under 11, 13 and 16 age groups to prepare for RPC fixtures during the summer. In 2017 the programme rebadged as the Vipers Regional Performance Centre to link up with the Southern Vipers at the top of the Women & Girls Performance Pathway. Girls came up with new team names (below) and designed new coloured kit.
