There are a number of ways to listen to ball-by-ball commentary of Hampshire's matches.
Southampton Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA):
Supporters of Hampshire Cricket who are unable to attend matches at the Ageas Bowl can hear ball-by-ball commentary of all Hampshire’s home matches in both the limited overs competitions and the Specsavers County Championship via HBA.
HBA has been delivering a ball-by-ball service to local hospitals for more than 50 years on their closed circuit link. In 2014, they have launched their own online via their own radio station, to continue making their commentaries accessible to a global audience. This can be accessed via the following link: sohba.org/cricket
In addition, HBA are please to announce they will be working with the BBC Radio Solent team, including a wider range of voices, and expert views from the home of Hampshire Cricket.
The overall aim is to enhance the provision on both services. In addition to using the closed-circuit link while in hospital, when patients return home they will be able to hear their commentators at The Ageas Bowl, both online and for the first time, on the radio via the BBC's AM frequency. Our links under the Radio Solent heading below, will also give access to full match commentaries on all away matches.
BBC Radio Solent (96.1 FM, 103.8 FM):
Radio Solent broadcasts ball-by-ball commentaries on all Hampshire's matches, home and away online via their own website.
However, their commentaries are also available to listen to via smartphone.
Simply download the “TuneInRadio” application, and then search for “BBC Live Event”. This will bring up a list of numbered streams. The correct stream for each game will be publicised via the match preview on this website.
The streams will only be operational once the BBC Radio Solent coverage is on air at the start of each game.
The BBC and HBA exist as companies independant of Hampshire Cricket, The Ageas Bowl and RB Sport and Leisure Holdings plc.
