Felix Organ Signs Hampshire Contract Extension

In first-class cricket Organ has an impressive bowling average of just 18

All-rounder Felix Organ has signed a contract extension with Hampshire Cricket.

The 22 year old made important contributions with both bat and ball in 2021 and his new extension will see him remain at the Club until at least the end of the 2022 season.

In first-class cricket Organ has an impressive bowling average of just 18, with best figures of 5-25 against Surrey, alongside one century and three fifties with the bat.

I love Hampshire. I started playing here when I was eight or nine and I like the idea of only playing at one club. It’s a nice feeling to have extended my contract, we got so close last year to getting some trophies, hopefully next year we’ll go one step further.

In 2021, the all-rounder chipped in with eight first class wickets at an average of 25 and an economy rate of 2.81. Organ also scored over 200 Championship lower-order runs.

An impressive 79 against eventual finalists Durham in the Royal London Cup was a highlight of his season in white-ball cricket.

It’s great that Felix has committed his future to the Club. He’s been with Hampshire since he was young, coming through the age group system and we’ve always been impressed with his attitude while possessing clear talent with both bat and ball.

He’s had a brilliant start to the winter break and is clearly working hard on improving his game as he looks to secure a regular first team spot across all formats.

After impressive performances for Hampshire Academy and Hampshire Second XI as a teenager, Felix made his first-team debut against Middlesex in the County Championship in September 2017, before signing a professional deal in 2018.

After being awarded his first professional contract, Felix broke into the First XI to become a regular fixture at the top of the order in 2019, featuring prominently as the County Championship season drew to a close.

And his insertion into the side provided instant reward as the youngster recorded his maiden century against Kent in only his third first class game, whilst also recording career-best figures of 5-25 to secure victory against Surrey.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a truncated 2020 domestic season, Organ did have an opportunity to feature in all five Bob Willis Trophy fixtures. He also made his T20 debut against Surrey in the same year.

The best way to catch Felix and the rest of the Hampshire squad in action all year long in 2022 is with a Hampshire Cricket Membership.

2022 Members also receive access to an exclusive allocation of tickets for next summer’s otherwise sold-out Vitality IT20s at The Ageas Bowl with England facing both India and South Africa at the venue next summer, alongside a whole host of other exciting benefits.
