The Southern Vipers travel to the 1st Central County Ground in Hove for the first time in the 2023 season as they aim to win three matches in a row having bounced back emphatically after defeat in their opening match.

Last time out, captain Georgia Adams led the way with both bat and ball, as she took 4-30 – her best figures for the Vipers – to help restrict Central Sparks to 183-9 before she scored a crucial half-century and put on 115 runs for the fifth wicket with Charlie Dean who herself made 42.

Storm meanwhile succumbed to an almighty defeat to South East Stars, as they were bowled our for just 89 in pursuit of 297.

Fast bowlers Dani Gibson and Lauren Filer both picked up three wickets each, but only four players could reach double figures with the bat, as Alex Griffiths top scored with just 21.


Southern Vipers Squad

Southern Vipers have named a 14-player squad for their first match at Hove.

Danni Wyatt is removed from the squad to manage her workload during the build-up to The Ashes, and Finty Trussler also misses out.

Victoria and Melbourne Stars wicket-keeper batter Nicole Faltum joins up with the squad for the first time.
