The Ageas Bowl is the home of Hampshire Cricket, Southern Vipers and Southern Brave.

2020 saw the venue host behind-closed-doors England Men's internationals against West Indies, Ireland, Pakistan and Australia as well as Hampshire fixtures in the Vitality Blast and Southern Vipers matches in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

2021 saw the venue welcome New Zealand & India for the inaugural ICC World Test Championship Final, and England Men for a Vitality IT20 against Sri Lanka on Saturday 26th June. Hampshire and Southern Vipers also returned to action in a summer which saw the introduction of The Hundred - where Southern Brave contested at The Ageas Bowl in July and August.

Nick Gubbins Selected In County Select XI To Face New Zealand

Hampshire’s Nick Gubbins is named in a 12-man squad to take on New Zealand in a four-day match in Chelmsford

Hampshire top order batter Nick Gubbins has been named in a 12-man squad to face New Zealand at the County Ground in Chelmsford on Thursday 26^th May.

The left hander has enjoyed a prolific opening few weeks of the LV= Insurance County Championship, leading Hampshire’s run scoring charts with 443 runs at an average of 55.37.

In the first six weeks of the competitive season, Gubbins recorded his first half-century of the year against Kent in Canterbury before his Player of the Match performance against Lancashire at The Ageas Bowl.

On a difficult wicket against a Lancashire attack featuring England’s James Anderson and Pakistan’s Hassan Ali, Gubbins recorded an unbeaten 101*, before bettering himself in the second innings with 130, having strode out to the middle on both occasions within the first five overs.

We have selected a strong squad of players who are in form and who deserve the opportunity to test themselves against high-class international opposition. Matches like this provide a valuable opportunity to see how the selected players handle a step up from county ranks and I am looking forward to working alongside them. I would also like to thank the first-class counties for their collaborative approach during a busy period.”
