Sohail TANVIR

Sohail is an experienced left-arm fast-bowler and an explosive lower-order batsman who is also a Pakistan international.

The seamer, who is widely renowned for his distinctive action, is hugely experienced in the limited-overs formats appearing 50 times for Pakistan in One-Day Internationals and featuring in 123 twenty20 matches since his debut in 2004.

He also played a key role in the 2013 South-African twenty20 competition, winning the tournament alongside Hampshire batsman Neil McKenzie with the Highveld Lions.

However, with four First-Class hundreds to his name, Sohail has plenty of long-form experience and this is where he has earned his all-rounder tag.

With the ball he has taken over 250 First-Class wickets at an average of 24, including career best figures of 8-54 in a match in his home country for Khan Research Laboratories.

He also averages just under 30 with the bat with four centuries and 12 fifties to his name in First-Class cricket.

Sohail couldn’t have wished for a better start to his Hampshire career with a wicket in the first over on his debut in the LV= County Championship match against Gloucestershire.

He then followed this up with a wicket in his second over on his debut for the Hampshire Royals in their Yorkshire Bank 40 victory over the Derbyshire Falcons.
