Picture these familiar scenes…….. The Groundsman rolling a ‘belter’!  Hundreds of children at a club training session!  Last minute text’s on a Friday night to get eleven players for Saturday’s match!

The volunteer is a vital commodity and without people carrying out these roles, plus many more, the clubs we are so fond of would find it much harder to flourish.

In recognition of the many volunteers around the county, Hampshire Cricket Board hosted the annual Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards (OSCAs) at the Ageas Bowl.  The Awards were presented during the Southern Electric Premier League T20 final between South Wilts and Burridge and included entertainment from Ex-England cricketer Alan Mullally.

Seven awards were presented on the evening by Hampshire Players, Adam Rouse, Sean Terry, Jake George, Jack Sheppard and Mike Roberts.  As well as receiving a recognition certificate, the winner of each category received a ticket to the fifth One Day International v Australia at the Ageas Bowl on 16th September 2013.  The winners will also be invited to the ECB’s national NatWest OSCAs event at Lords in the Autumn. />
