Scorecard
Michael Carberry made an impact, though not entirely in the way he might have expected, for the England Lions as he took two wickets in two balls against Bangladesh A in Bristol.
The batsman came on in the 47th over of the reply with the tourists’ score on 149-8 and promptly had Robiul Islam caught behind then caught Al-Amin Hossain off his own bowling to wrap up the innings on 151 and secure a 202 run win for his team.
Earlier, he had made 20 while his Lions and Royals Limited Overs opening partner James Vince registered 18 as the hosts made 353-4 from their 50 overs; centuries brought up by Sussex’s Luke Wright (143*) and Yorkshire’s Gary Ballance (115).
In reply, another Hampshire player in the side, Danny Briggs bowled a full complement of 10 overs, taking 2-37 off them, including the lbw of Test-player Naeem Islam.
England Lions take a 1-0 lead in the three match Series. The next match will be played on Thursday [22 August], also at Bristol.
